After having a low grade fever off-and-on for a few days, Ivy woke up looking like this (several weeks ago): Note the swelling in the face as well!
The poor thing had broken out in hives! I promptly took her to the pediatrician who said the fever was caused by a double ear infection and that the hives were likely an allergic reaction to the infection. (I didn't even know that was possible.) I felt so bad that I didn't take her in sooner, but I used to take Millie in for every fever and it was usually nothing! Although she had a fever Ivy was still a pretty pleasant kid, so I thought she was OK. Even with the hives itching terribly, she never complained. She is such a good baby. Luckily a little Benadryl and a round of antibiotics cleared everything up. Now she is doing great.

Oh how sad! I hate that about kids they can't tell you whats going on so it is a big guessing game! I feel like I waste $25 when I take him in, but I get so nervous I take him in for every little thing. She is still so pretty and happy with the hives. I love your little girls.
Poor thing! My sister would take her kids in when they had fevers and she thought they might have ear infections, but they didn't, and then it seemed like every time she took them for their well visits they had ear infections and she had no idea. That's what you get for having a good baby. =)
I love the green outfit Millie is wearing. I can imagine her cute little voice telling you how stylish you are. =)
Oh, poor little Ivy. What a sweetie.
That is so sad, she really is such a good baby!! She even looks happy in this picture!
Ivy looks so different. Maybe it is the swelling her face that makes her look like she has changed a ton.
Oh sad! Poor little Ivy. She is a trooper.
