I have nearly recovered from our long weekend in Manti. I took the girls down for the Mickelson family reunion and my little sister's bridal shower. Mark stayed home to work on a project for me (more on that in weeks to come). And making that long trip without his help, was a lot of work! Especially since my 4-year-old acted like a "ba-lunatic" the entire time!
The reunion was fun. We swam at the Manti pool in the morning and had lunch at the park. Ivy was worn out from the pool and slept through lunch.
Aren't kids cute when they sleep? (Especially this one below.) No fighting, whining, or complaining . . . it's amazing!
We slept at my grandma Nora's house. I got a picture with both the girls, but Ivy was hysterical and no one looked very happy.
I only managed to take one picture during the bridal shower and it wasn't a very good one. I was tired and just wanted to sit back and watch Ivy walk. Yes, you heard right: Ivy is finally walking (and has even started talking)!!! Now, we're just waiting for her first tooth!

Beach Bums
We took our annual trip to Bear Lake over the weekend. And had a wonderful time at the beach. It was overcast and the water was choppy, but the kids loved it. Millie and her cousins Lia and Nora were great entertainment for all the adults lounging under the canopy. I loved how Millie and Nora mounted the paddles and went horseback riding. They also made a few trips to "Macey's" as they ventured out into the water. Millie wasn't crazy about the sand though. At one point she came over to me and stuck her bum (pictured above) in my face and said, "Get it off." Funny girl.
The best part was that she is finally old enough that she could play in the water without mom or dad holding her hand. And Ivy . . . well she was content to just lounge with the adults.
Both the girls were worn out by the end of the day and fell asleep on the car ride home. Unfortunately Millie's new booster seat doesn't provide a comfortable headrest! Poor girl.
And here she is Sunday morning complaining about her sunburn. I completely felt her pain, as I also got burned. Millie was better by Monday but I'm still suffering! More proof that Millie was blessed with her daddy's skin!
